Departing from Punta Uvita beach, you will visit the famous “Whale’s Tail” formation, the islets of the “three sisters” (Tres Hermanas) and the Ventana Sea Caves. As you travel through these natural formations, the quest for the humpback whales (Seasonal) and the two different dolphins of the area is happening.
The crew is very skilled, and they quickly notice the sounds and movements that these mammals perform in the water. As well as they have interaction with other tour guides and boats in the area to spot the whales.
As the whales are located, the boat will come as close as it is reasonable with the logical respect for the animal’s welfare and the passengers’ safety.
Others species that are occasionally seeing during this are Pilot whales, Bryde’s Whales, False Killer whales and other marine life.
The last part of the experience is done in the coral and rock reefs of the area to observe the brilliant wildlife of the Ballena Marine National Park. While traveling on the boat, you will be enjoying at all times the beauty of the coast of Bahía Ballena giving you memories that last a lifetime.
The Humpback whales stay in the waters of Costa Rica and the Ballena Marine National Park between mid-July to October late (Southern Humpback Whales), and again in mid-December through late March (Northern Humpback Whales) as they journey to and from feeding and mating grounds. The snorkeling is good only during the dry months (November late through June) due to visibility.
