The Tree of Life is a wildlife rescue center, located in the surroundings of Cahuita.
Originally the complex was made as a botanical garden and an ornamental flower and fruits plantation, so the tour combines excellent botanical learning with the experience of the animals rescued from various events.
The primary goal right now is to save wildlife to heal them and reinsert them in their natural environment.
As you walk in the garden and rescue center you will see the animals in precincts made according to biologists measurements for animals to be able to live without stress.
Some of these creatures cannot be reinserted, and therefore, they end up living here for a lifetime. This happened essentially when they were caught and tamed to live in a man-made atmosphere without the proper care or diet.
As in Costa Rica wildlife cannot be caged, by law, animals are saved by the authorities and given to centers such as Tree of Life for them to live happy and healthy even if in a big cage.
