Including 13,300 acres of the ocean (5,400 marine hectares) and the most extensive coral reef in the Pacific of Costa Rica, the Marino Ballena National Park is a snorkeler’s heaven.
You will recognize species such as spotted rose snapper, parrot fish, pacific dog snapper, and butterfly fish. You might also see turtles and manta rays and a variety of sea-bottom creatures like sea cucumbers, starfish, and sand dollars – can be observed crawling gently on the floor of the ocean.
The park has up to 18 different species of coral reef that can also be enjoyed, giving snorkelers a colorful and elaborate view into some of the essential life-forms in the ocean. Moreover, you can see, occasionally, whales and dolphins jumping the waters around the boat.
This tour incorporates visits to Isla Ballena – where you will enjoy most of the snorkeling – and the Ventanas Caves, unusual natural water corridors that, if weather conditions allow, the boat’s captain will steer through.
This tour lasts 2 hours.
