For this tour, you are going across the border and into the San San Pond Sak Wetlands in Panamá, which is a Ramsar site ( the highest international convention that protects wetlands), where you will be able to see Manatees, one of the biggest aquatic mammals in his natural habitat.
Early in the morning, you will take transportation that will drive you all the way to the Panama border to make the migration procedures.
From the border, you will take transportation that will take you to the entrance of San San Pond Sak, to begin with, a short explanation about the Manatee conservation project made by the community.
From there, you will take a 40 minutes boat ride to the Manatee´s observation platform. The trip itself is a tour as it goes into the wetlands with great opportunities to watch aquatic birds, mangroves, and other tropical wonders of the region.
As you arrive at the platform during the trip, you will enjoy the nature sounded by Wetlands, aquatic plants, mangrove, and aquatic birds.
As you arrive at the platform, you will be asked to a strict silence system while expecting for manatees to come. The Rangers place banana leaves and fruits to help these noble animals approach for viewing.
After you see enough of these prodigious aquatic mammals, and after two hours you will return to the boat and back to your transportation.
After the Manatees Watching Tour, you will be taken to Don Sixto´s organic farm. He will give you a fascinating cultural and agroecological explanation of his production and benefits.
And then you will have a lunch break to start your return back to your hotel in the South Caribbean of Costa Rica.
