The Carara National Park is a perfect option to enjoy the day walking in this transition rainforest to dry forest; this tour is suited for birdwatchers and those who love nature and enjoy walking through it.
Once you are heading to the Carara Park, your naturalist tour guide will provide every kind of you interesting details about the scenery and towns near the road. This park has the particularity to be home to 48% of Costa Rica’s bird species, and this is the main reason why birdwatchers could love this destination.
Once you get to the park, you can choose between two possible trails of approximately 2 miles each (3.2 km). During the hike, your tour guide will be spotting wildlife and proving detail explanation about each one of the one you encounter. You will be able to admire the scenery all throughout the trail, but by the middle of the hike, we will be taking a 20-minute break.
We recommend you to look out for all the marvelous birds in the area, especially the scarlet macaw which can be easily spotted here as it is their natural habitat and home of the most significant population of this beautiful bird in Costa Rica.
